Zaylevelten began to release music in 2021 as Aizay. His first known single is called Poe Up, followed by Rich as SHiT, which is a cult favourite in the Nigerian underground and no longer available online.
For 2 years he released music under the name of Aizay before changing his name in 2023. The reason was simple and practical. People kept mispronouncing Aizay. The name Zaylevelten was a cleaner, more distinctive and less misspelled name.
His musical childhood was in between worlds, he says. What he used to eat online was American rap music, music from the rage rap and hyper-pop subgenres that was distorted, energetic and full of emotion.
