Olarotimi Fakunle is from Abeokuta, Ogun State. He spent part of his teenage years in Lafenwa Barracks. His father served in the Armed Services and the family relocated to Lagos later when his father was posted there.

Olarotimi Fakunle is a graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), majoring in Theatre Arts. He has studied Theatre and Television Production at LASU as well.
Following the completion of his diploma, he once again went back to working in the field, gaining further knowledge from master theatre practitioners. He worked with other theatre directors such as Wole Oguntokun.
He teamed up with Wole Oguntokun later to co-create the Theatre Art Terra Project in 2007.
The education didn’t end after he graduated from school. Learning, unlearning and re-learning are topics that have been repeatedly discussed under the tutelage of Fakunle. He thinks that to be a good actor, you should be constantly evolving.
